♥ Puppy Love♥

Hi there!
I'm so excited to show you the new doll I finished recently :)  A very good friend of mine found a great fabric remnant at a thrift shop, and asked me if I could make a doll wearing a dress made from the fabric :)  The remnant was white with small hearts and puppies, so the first thing I did was a coffee stain to make it prim :)  I have to admit dolls are not my strong point! Well not so much the entire doll more like the dress portion of the doll Lol. I'm not sure the reason but I just always have a hard time with it.

Regardless of the trouble we where both very happy with how she turned out!

I thought she need a puppy to tie in with the dress lol :)
Tell me what you think! :)

Thrift Shop Find

I absolutely love thrift stores! I don't often have time to go but when I do I never leave empty handed. Usually I'm on the look out for any kind of craft supplies or something I can redo/repourpose. However there is one thrift shop that I visit that for some reason when ever I'm there I'm always on the look out for an old wooden bread bowl. I don't know why, maybe it's because they have a large section of kitchen items lol.
I've been going there for a couple of years and hadn't found one. Well guess what!

YEP! Found one! I have been looking for one of these for a while :) I have no idea if it's old or new made to look old, but I don't care! I love it!!  I'm not sure if I will keep the rag balls in it or not, haven't decided :) I'm sure it will get a lot of use for my shop when I need to take pictures for listings!

What are some of your favorite thrift store finds?!

Prim Hearts & Love Birds

I just wanted to share with you some of the new Valentines items I've been working on recently :) I don't usually use a lot of hearts in my decorating, however Valentine's Day is happy exception.  My birthday is the day before so when I  was a little girl I always associated Valentine's Day with my birthday LoL :)
This year I made a few new items for the shop. Love birds, doves and of course lots of hearts ;)

Don't forget to leave a comment and let me know what you think!!
Now it's on to Spring goodies!!!

A New Project

Every year I make my Mom's Christmas gift by hand, this means she's usually my guinea pig for any new patterns or ideas I've been wanting to try, lol. This past year, one of the things I had been itching to make was a set of primitive fabric covered boxes. So with that said, I knew exactly what my Mom would be getting for Christmas! :)

I had a general idea of how I would go about making them, but I decided to search some of my favorite blogs to see some other techniques. I found a really great tutorial from Primitive Bettys. She took her boxes a step further and added a beautiful stitchery to the top of them, they turned out beautiful! :)

I had some vintage fabric pieces that I purchased from my local Goodwill store a while back that I thought where perfect! I dyed my fabric with Walnut ink. I think it gives the fabric a really great primitive look, however a coffee stain would work just as well :)  Next it was time to cover the boxes with my fabric and since I'm always on the look out for cheaper/easier ways to craft, I decided to try a home made version of Mod Podge made from equal parts water and school glue (like Elmers) from Babblings and more . This mixture is amazing, it worked perfect!!

After I had all of my boxes covered and my "Mod Podge" was completely dry, it was time to rough them up! I used 60 grit sand paper and sanded all of my boxes. Some areas I sanded more than others for a truly old primitive look. When everything was all done I was so happy with how they turned out, I made myself a set too!! My Mom was very pleased as well :)

Its been a while...

Tis the season to be crazy!! I started this blog with such high hopes, lol. The problem is that I started it at my  busiest time of the year, so I haven't been able to dedicate as much time to the site as I would like. I still have some fun things planned but in the mean time, I thought I would share with you one of the orders I recently finished, and what has kept me away  lol :)

This is of 44 of my bears, 6 snowmen, 4 giraffes, and 12 gingerbread men! All for the same order :)

I've also been working on some new items for my shop

Let me know what you think :) I'll check back in soon, hopefully with a fun giveaway for the up coming Christmas season!! So excited! :)
I'll talk to you all again soon!
